We are delighted to announce that we have a winner in our competition to win $2,000 with Netfleet. Two weeks ago we set the challenge – guess the number of domains sold through Netfleet to win $2,000 in Snapper Auction credit:

http://www.netfleet.com.au/blog/domain-snapper/win-2000-with-netfleet-com-au/

We had huge interest in the competition – including some weird and wonderful and often amusing entries – ranging from 0 domains, up to the dizzy heights of 600,000 domains!

We want to thank everyone who entered. It was surprising how many of you were so close, however there can be only one winner. Two people guessed the same number of domains, however one was submitted first, and as per our rules, takes the prize.

So to refresh your memory the question was:

How many domains has Netfleet.com.au sold since it’s launch in July 2008?

And the answer is………… 20,763 domains!

And the winner is…………. Morgan Payne with a superb guess just one hour from launching of 21,000 on 23rd April 13:54 via Twitter!

Thanks again to all that entered, better luck next time, and congratulations Morgan!

Thanks

The Netfleet Team

Well, here we are nearly a 3rd of the way through 2012, and what a start to the year. We’ve seen some huge domain sales already – notably the 6 figure HomeLoan.com.au sale for $100,000, backed up by it’s cousin HomeLoanCalculator.com.au for $33,000, not to mention great sales such as CreditCards.net.au for $22,000, 13Work.com.au for $8,700, FreeSamples.com.au at $6,350, and hundreds more. With all these Australian domain sales flying around, we thought it we should have a little fun and test your domain sale knowledge, and launch our competition on Netfleet, giving you the chance to win $2,000 credit on Snapper Auctions Australia or Snapper Auctions New Zealand.

Win $2,000 – You Gotta Be In It, To Win It

So what’s up for grabs? All entries will be collected and one lucky winner will take $2,000, that will instantly be credited to your Netfleet account to spend our Snapper Auctions Australia or Snapper Auctions New Zealand. With $2,000 at your disposal, you’ll be able to stretch your legs in the auctions, and jump start your new online venture.

How To Enter

All you have to do is take a guess at:

How many domains has Netfleet.com.au sold since it’s launch in July 2008?

This includes domain names sold across all of our platforms: Standard Listings, Snapper Auctions Australia, Snapper Auctions New Zealand and Aftermarket Auctions.

And the closest guess takes the prize! Submitting your guess is easy – and an be done one of two ways:

1. Via Twitter

Log on to your Twitter account, and tweet the number of domains you think Netfleet has sold, ensuring two things 1) you include @netfleet and 2) you include the hash tag #competitions in your tweet, otherwise we can’t give you your prize! For example:

“I love Netfleet and I think they have sold 5000 domains @netfleet #competitions”

2. Via Facebook

Simply browse to the Netfleet Facebook page here:

http://www.facebook.com/Netfleet.com.au

And Write something on our wall saying just how many domains you think we’ve sold, ensuring you include the hash tag #competitions on your wall post. For example:

“I think Netfleet has sold 5000 domains #competitions”

Rules

The winner is the closest guess submitted via Twitter (with @netfleet and #competitions in message) or via Facebook (with #competitions in post) on the Netfleet.com.au page only. Emailed entries will not be considered.

The domain sale period is from the launch of Netfleet in July 2008 up to April 22nd 2012

The competition will run for 2 weeks, starting Monday 23rd April 2012, and closing at midnght on 7th May 2012.

Recipients of sales data cannot apply. Sorry.

We will announce the lucky winner one week after closing on 14th May 2012.

If multiple entrants guess the same amount, the first guess will win.

Only the first submission per person/entity will be entered.

So don’t delay, make your guess right away!

We wish you the best of luck

Best wishes,

Netfleet was pleased to snap this domain for our client. It will be interesting to see what they do with this domain name as it is a fiercely competitive keyword. Today the top ranking domain for the keyword “creditcards” at google.com.au is credit-cards.net.au outranking creditcard.com.au by three places, showing that “com” is not always king.

Dear All

As per previous email communication to all clients earlier today, there was a security breach of our database at Netfleet.

Since learning of the intrusion, we took Netfleet.com.au offline and have been taking steps to address the vulnerability that led to this incident. We have been cooperating with the AFP and Cert Australia conducting an exhaustive investigation in this matter.

We have since found the source of the vulnerability in the 3rd party software used, and applied a permanent fix.

Furthermore, we have taken additional security measures beyond this intrusion. We have rebuilt the server from the ground up, ensuring that no malicious data or files are present on our new server, and we have reset all client passwords on Netfleet.com.au.

We are still, and will continue to, work with the relevant authorities investigating this breach.

Again, we would like to stress that we are erring on the side of caution and, there is no need to be unduly alarmed as it is in fact only a very remote possibility that your details have been accessed. Furthermore, if you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, do not hesitate to get in touch

Best wishes,

Once a domain name is snapped, the domain will point to this landing page using Netfleet name servers automatically, whereby visitors will be given an explanation of the page, and the ability to register an interest in the domain name, and make an unsolicited offer for the domain.

Upon receiving an offer via this method, you will be notified and can decide whether to respond.

To see an example of this page in action, please click the following link:

Of course, you can change the default name servers for your snapped domains any time you wish, by changing the name servers in the Members Area under Account Information

Please note, this is live now and will take effect on all future snapped domain names. Furthermore, as this is an initiative from Netfleet, this is no way implies that you have registered this domain name for the sole purpose of resale.

As always, we appreciate any feedback you have on this latest development

Best wishes,
The Netfleet Team
