Domain Metrics and Navigation Added to Aftermarket Auctions

Just a quick update, we have added a new detailed view to the Aftermarket Auctions that will display available metrics for each domain name, such as Google search volumes, In Bound Links, Cost per Click, and more. You can view our Guide to Domain Metics which explains exactly how each metric is gathered, and how they help you as a buyer decide which domain names you want. We have also  added search functionality, and the ability to jump from auction to auction. https://www.netfleet.com.au/aftermarket-auctions Thanks Mark

Buy Now option for Aftermarket Auctions

Just a quick update to our Aftermarket Auction platform that we recently released. A further option is now available to our clients – Buy Now. As it sounds, the Buy Now button does just that, and presents an option for buyers to buy the domain name immedaitely at the price shown on the button, closing the auction for that domain, fast tracking the domain sale. This is perfect for buyers who don’t want to wait for an auction to close,  or of course, want to ensure that no one else clicks the Buy Now button. Sellers can choose whether or [...]

6 Month Prohibition on Change of Registrant Removed!

Today is the day that the 6 month prohibition on change of registrants has finally been removed. Now, you are free to transfer a domain name to a different registrant with no waiting period. You could register an Australian domain name in the morning, and sell it to another party by the afternoon. The updated policy from auDA (the .au Domain Administrators) can be found here: http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2011-03/ However, it is very important to note, that under auDA policy: “..a registrant may not register a domain name for the sole purpose of resale or transfer to another entity.  Where a registrant [...]

Aftermarket Auctions Are Back!

Dear Friends, We are pleased to announce the long awaited relaunch of our popular Aftermarket Auctions platform on Netfleet. Quite different from our previous platform, we now have the ability to run multiple auctions at any one time. What’s more, is that each seller is given the option to choose their own, unique URL displaying only their domain names for sale. Sellers can also choose the length each domain name will run for. All auctions will feed in to our Aftermarket Auctions – Hot Domains as they approach the close of auction, plus we will include other ‘Hot Domains’ in [...]

Q&A section for every domain name listing

Our latest development for Netfleet.com.au has just been released – a Questions & Answers Section for every Standard Domain Listing. All too often a buyer may have a question for the seller ahead of submitting an offer that isn’t covered in the listings description. The Q&A section on every listing allows you to ask any question surrounding the domain name, such as the traffic it receives, the revenue generated, or the age of the domain for example. The seller then has a few options when responding the buyer: a) Respond privately to the seller via email b) Respond publicly to [...]

Snapper Past Results Are Back

Happy to say we’ve got a much requested feature back on Netfleet – the Snapper Past Results/History. Many of us often miss the domain purge, and if you are not watching our platform at the right time, can miss the results. Both our Snapper Auctions Australia and Snapper Auctions New Zealand now show past results for Australia here: http://www.netfleet.com.au/snapper-history/ And for New Zealand here: http://www.netfleet.com.au/snapper-nz-history/ Thanks, Mark

InvestmentProperty.com.au breaking all records

Today we saw the purge and subsequent snapping of InvestmentProperty.com.au. It was a very exciting auction with the price breaking our previous highest sale of Electricity.com.au for 30K with more than an hour left on the auction. When the hammer fell at one minute to one we had a new record highest sale price at Netfleet.com.au of $125,001 (xGST). This is the highest publicly recorded sale of a .com.au at this time with only the domain included – a clear indicator of how the Australian domain name market has matured over the past few years. Amazingly, this domain was allowed [...]

auDA removing 6 month rule!

In June 2008 auDA removed the prohibition on selling domains names, or effectively performing a change of registrant, and created the Transfers (Change of Registrant) Policy (2008-08). This was a great, and long overdue, step towards creating a legitimate domain name aftermarket whereby domain investors could buy and sell domains for any reason, albeit with a few provisions, such as prohibiting the sale of a domain name within 6 months of registering. As a result of the findings from a Secondary Market Working Group who discussed many aspects of the .AU secondary market recently, auDA has agreed that “The six [...]

Facebook Like and Google +1 Your Listings

We’ve made a small tweak to the standard listings for sale page for every domain, and added in the ability to Facebook Like and Google +1 your listings. We have also updated the home page to include all those listings that have been recently Google +1′d or Facebook Liked! With the proliferation of social media being used to share information and push a message, we thought it important to provide this ability to recommend your domain name listings to people on Facebook, and across the Google empire. This will be a massive help in increasing the exposure your domain names [...]

Top five tips on completing sales

I thought I’d take a moment to share a few tips given to me over the years by the most successful .com.au sellers I know. 1) Add a “for sale” banner to your website This is an obvious one, but is often overlooked as it requires some effort/planning. If your domain is less than 6 months old, put up a notice that you are intending to develop the site and a contact form for anyone wishing to be made aware once you go live. Put a reminder in your calendar to review your plans after 6 months and if your [...]
