| We”ve finally passed this significant milestone and, at the time of writing have a total of 30,349 .AU domains listed. We are the only website to exclusively list .AU domains and hope, that by specialising in this niche, we”ll be increasingly able to bring more targeted buyers and sellers together. | |
| One Year On – The AU Aftermarket | |
| Coincidentally, this month marks our birthday! Netfleet is one year old! The auDA rule changes allowing the buying and selling of .AU domain names came into place on 1st June 2008 and our website followed shortly after. It”s been an interesting year for the industry and, when you consider it started from scratch, it”s encouraging to see so many people embracing the idea of a domain trading industry. In this time, Netfleet has notched up over 30,000 domain listings, nearly 2,000 offers and around 100 sales. A long, long way from the mind boggling numbers seen internationally with .COM and .NET etc but in our opinion a very solid start.
Of course, as participants in this fledgling industry, we all need to do our part to make sure it continues to grow. The key thing we really need to see to get things moving along is a greater awareness of the fact that domains can be bought and sold. It”s unfortunate that the vast majority of people do not realise this is the case and will often hand register a second rate domain not realising that for a few hundred dollars, say, they could get the perfect domain name for their online venture. So, make sure you let people know on your websites, blogs, forums and through your offline activities that the .AU domain aftermarket is alive and kicking! |
