Graph showing Count of Aftermarket Sales at Netfleet.com.au

Some figures on how the domain name aftermarket is faring.

As we say goodbye to summer, we wanted to share some figures on how the domain name aftermarket is faring, particularly on Netfleet. We’re happy to say that business is booming! In November, as you will know, we integrated our aftermarket domain auctions into our daily snapper auctions for expired domains. The rationale was that it seemed that the expired domain auctions were stealing the limelight when there were some great names being put up for sale by you, our members, that deserved more attention. We also made it completely free to add reserves if your name is at Netfleet […]

Has the 4% listing fee for reserve prices on the Aftermarket Auctions been keeping you from listing your premium domains names? To Transfer your domains to Netfleet go to https://www.netfleet.com.au/transfer.php We have been running our current format of Aftermarket Auctions since November 2011 so I thought it was time to share some insights into what I have observed in the last 10 months. Domain portfolio management simplified with folders

As a company focused on servicing the needs of domain name traders it it only fitting that we upgrade our Domain Management tools to help you manage large portfolios of domain names. So with this in mind we listened to your feedback on forums like dntrade.com.au and have added domain categorisation, or as we call it folders to help you organise your domains. Do you have more than 100 domains and wanted to find all the domains expiring in 90 days, that are using dns1.netfleet.com.au as a nameserver and have auto-renew set to off? Well this information is now just […]

CreditReport.com.au tops the Standard Catalogue Listing sales

With the sale of CreditReport.com.au this month we now have a two way tie at the top of our Top Standard Catalogue Listing Sales between CreditReport.com.au and CurrencyConverter.com.au at $27,500 (xGST and Transfer costs). It is worth remembering that very few big sales ever get reported publicly so this is a rare opportunity for us to see the true retail value of a quality generic domain name. The domain sale was negotiated through Netfleet’s Standard Catalogue Listing process which is currently a totally free service offered to buyer and sellers of .au domain names. Once the sale price was agreed […]

HomeLoanCalculator.com.au sells for $33,001

Today we saw the auction and subsequent snapping of the domain HomeLoanCalculator.com.au at Netfleet.com.au for $33,001 after it was allowed to expire by the previous owner. According to Google the exact search phrase “home loan calculator” is searched for in Australia 33,100 times a month.  Meaning it sold for basically $1 for every monthly search, which looks like a fantastic deal when you consider that a click for this very competitive search term is worth about $5,65. It is worth remembering that with expired domains the buyer only had 24 hours to made a decision and to get involved so […]

Creditcards.net.au sets a new .net.au record

Today saw the release of the premium generic keyword domain Creditcards.net.au. In a furious public auction today this domain reached the .net.au record setting price of $22,002, surpassing the recently announced sale of the closely related Creditcard.net.au which was sold late last year for $18,200. This is now the highest publicly recorded sale of a .net.au for a domain name only. Showing that for premium generic keyword domains a .net.au is still a domain worth owning. Netfleet was pleased to snap this domain for our client. It will be interesting to see what they do with this domain name as […]

auDA removing 6 month rule!

In June 2008 auDA removed the prohibition on selling domains names, or effectively performing a change of registrant, and created the Transfers (Change of Registrant) Policy (2008-08). This was a great, and long overdue, step towards creating a legitimate domain name aftermarket whereby domain investors could buy and sell domains for any reason, albeit with a few provisions, such as prohibiting the sale of a domain name within 6 months of registering. As a result of the findings from a Secondary Market Working Group who discussed many aspects of the .AU secondary market recently, auDA has agreed that “The six […]

Facebook Like and Google +1 Your Listings

We’ve made a small tweak to the standard listings for sale page for every domain, and added in the ability to Facebook Like and Google +1 your listings. We have also updated the home page to include all those listings that have been recently Google +1’d or Facebook Liked! With the proliferation of social media being used to share information and push a message, we thought it important to provide this ability to recommend your domain name listings to people on Facebook, and across the Google empire. This will be a massive help in increasing the exposure your domain names […]

New look URLs for standard listings

We have released our new look URLs yesterday so now you can navigate or link directly to your listings without bothering with internal numeric Identifiers. In short your link will be http://www.netfleet.com.au/glasspoolfencing.com.au instead of http://www.netfleet.com.au/index.php?a=d&id=57978 This makes it simpler to direct buyers to your listing when promoting your domain. We have also added the following simplified pages http://www.netfleet.com.au/drawings.com.au-similar-domains http://www.netfleet.com.au/garden-domains and http://www.netfleet.com.au/home-all-domains to make browsing parent and child categories easier. NOTE: All existing links will get a 301 “Moved Permanently” response, which will redirect users to the new URL until you update your inbound links.
